Viewing Responses and Analytics

Learn how to analyze survey responses, track performance, and export data.

Accessing Response Analytics

  • From the survey list, click on any survey row
  • This opens the Survey Responses page with analytics and individual responses

Overview Statistics

At the top of the responses page, you'll see key metrics:

  • Total Responses: Number of completed survey submissions
  • Questions: Total number of questions in the survey

Response Timeline

View daily response volume with an interactive area chart:

  • Shows responses received per day
  • Identify peaks and trends in response activity
  • Hover over points to see exact counts

Individual Responses

Browse all survey submissions in a table format:

  • Response ID: Unique identifier (first 8 characters shown)
  • User: External user ID or "Anonymous" if not provided
  • Fingerprint: Device/browser fingerprint for tracking
  • Answers: Number of questions answered
  • Date: When the response was submitted

Viewing Response Details

Click the eye icon on any response to see full details:

  • Response ID: Full unique identifier
  • User: External user ID
  • Fingerprint: Complete fingerprint string
  • Completed: Date and time of completion
  • Answer Flow: Complete list of questions and answers in order
    • Question text and answer for each node
    • Result messages if configured
    • Shows the path the user took through the survey

Question Performance

Analyze how each question is performing:

  • Question Type: Type indicator badge
  • Question: Full question text
  • Responses: Total answers received
  • Rate: Response rate as percentage
  • Breakdown: For multiple choice/checkboxes, see answer distribution
    • Visual bar showing percentage of each answer
    • Count and percentage for each option
    • Color-coded for easy identification
  • Result: If configured, shows the result message for that question

Top Paths

Understand common user journeys through your survey:

  • Path Description: Text description of the journey (e.g., "Yes → Yes → No")
  • Percentage: What percent of users took this path
  • Visual Bar: Horizontal bar showing relative popularity
  • Pie Chart: Visual representation of top 5 paths

Exporting Data

Download all responses as a CSV file:

  • Click the "Export CSV" button in the page header
  • The file includes:
    • Response ID
    • User ID
    • Fingerprint
    • Created At timestamp
    • Answers (semicolon-separated)
  • File is automatically downloaded with date in filename

Pagination

Navigate through responses using pagination controls:

  • Shows range (e.g., "1-10 of 45")
  • Use arrow buttons to move between pages
  • Click page numbers to jump directly

When No Responses Exist

If a survey hasn't received responses yet:

  • Overview stats will show 0 responses
  • Response timeline will be empty
  • Individual responses table will show empty state

Analytics Best Practices

  • Regularly review question performance to identify confusing or poorly-phrased questions
  • Use path analytics to understand common user journeys
  • Export data periodically for backup or external analysis
  • Track response timeline to identify peak engagement times
  • Identify questions with low response rates for optimization
  • Use breakdown data to inform decision-making
