Creating Your First Survey

Learn how to create a new survey and configure its basic settings.

Creating a New Survey

  1. Navigate to the Surveys page from your project dashboard
  2. Click the "New Survey" button in the top right corner
  3. Fill in the survey details:
    • Internal Name: A descriptive name for your survey (e.g., "Q4 Product Satisfaction")
    • Custom URL Path (Slug): A URL-friendly identifier (e.g., "customer-satisfaction")
    • Brief Description: Optional description explaining the survey's purpose
  4. Click "Launch Builder" to create your survey and open the survey builder

Survey Settings Explained

  • Internal Name: This name is for your reference only and won't be shown to users
  • Custom URL Path: Creates a unique URL for your survey. If left blank, it auto-generates from the survey name
  • Description: Internal notes about the survey's goals and purpose

Navigating the Survey Builder

After creating your survey, you'll be taken to the Survey Builder which consists of:

  • Question Tree (Left Panel): Lists all questions in your survey with their types and branching status
  • Visual Logic Canvas (Right Panel): Drag-and-drop interface to visually connect questions and build branching paths
  • Question Editor Sheet: Slide-out panel for configuring individual questions

Quick Actions in Builder

  • Copy Link: Copy the public URL to share your survey
  • Preview: Open your survey in a new tab to test it
  • Add Question: Create a new question node
  • Back to Surveys: Return to the surveys list

Saving Your Work

Questions and connections are saved automatically when you click "Create Question" or "Update Changes" in the question editor. The visual canvas connections must be explicitly saved using the save button in the canvas.

Next Steps

  • Add questions to your survey using the "Add Question" button
  • Configure branching logic in the visual canvas by connecting question nodes
  • Preview your survey to test the user experience
  • Set your survey to Live status when ready to collect responses
