Archiving and Deleting Tickets

Archiving and Deleting Tickets

Manage ticket lifecycle by archiving completed tickets and deleting unnecessary ones.

Archiving Tickets

Archive tickets to clean up your inbox while keeping them accessible:

  • Keeps tickets accessible - Archived tickets can be viewed later
  • Removes from inbox - Archived tickets won't appear in the main list
  • Preserves history - All conversation history is saved

How to Archive

  1. Open the ticket you want to archive
  2. Click the Archive icon in the toolbar
  3. Ticket is immediately archived
  4. Icon changes to "Unarchive"
  5. Ticket moves to the Archive view

Unarchiving Tickets

  1. Switch to the Archive view
  2. Find the archived ticket
  3. Click the Unarchive icon in the toolbar
  4. Ticket returns to the main inbox
  5. Icon changes back to "Archive"

Archive View

  • Access via the "Archive" tab above the ticket list
  • Shows all archived tickets for the project
  • Filters and search work in Archive view
  • Unarchive any ticket to return it to inbox

When to Archive

  • Resolved tickets you may need later
  • Tickets with useful information for future reference
  • Completed work you want to keep record of
  • Tickets that don't need active attention

Deleting Tickets

Permanently remove tickets you no longer need:

  • Permanent - Cannot be recovered after deletion
  • Removes all data - Conversation and attachments gone
  • Use with caution - Only delete when absolutely necessary

How to Delete

  1. Open the ticket you want to delete
  2. Click the Trash icon in the toolbar
  3. Confirm deletion in the dialog
  4. Ticket is permanently deleted
  5. Next ticket in list is automatically selected

Delete Confirmation

A dialog appears to confirm:

  • Warning about permanent deletion
  • Confirms you want to proceed
  • Click "Delete" to confirm or cancel
  • What Gets Deleted

    • Ticket subject and description
    • All conversation messages
    • All attachments
    • Ticket metadata (status, priority, category)

    When to Delete

    • Test or duplicate tickets
    • Tickets created by mistake
    • Tickets with no useful information
    • Spam or inappropriate content

    Archive vs Delete

    Action Archive Delete
Access Can view in Archive Cannot access
    Recovery Can unarchive Cannot recover
    History Preserved Lost
Use Case Keep for reference Remove permanently

    Best Practices

    • Archive instead of deleting when in doubt
    • Use Archive for resolved tickets with useful info
    • Delete only when absolutely necessary
    • Regularly review and archive old tickets
    • Keep important historical data archived
