Send emails from your own provider (SendGrid, Resend, SMTP)

By default, AppGram sends transactional emails — support replies, notifications, release announcements — from a shared platform address. Connecting your own email provider means those emails go out from your domain instead, which improves deliverability and keeps your brand consistent.

Supported providers

  • SendGrid — connect with a SendGrid API key.

  • Resend — connect with a Resend API key.

  • SMTP — connect any SMTP server: Gmail app passwords, Mailgun, Postmark, or your own self-hosted mail server.

Connecting a provider

  1. Open Settings → Organization → Communications.

  2. In the Connect a provider section, pick your provider from the dropdown.

  3. Enter the From email and From name recipients will see (for example [email protected] and "Acme Support").

  4. Provide the credentials:

    • SendGrid / Resend — paste your API key.

    • SMTP — enter the host, port, username, and password.

  5. Click Connect provider.

Credentials are stored encrypted and are never shown again after you save them.

Sending a test email

Once a provider is connected, the Communications tab shows a Send a test email field. Enter any address and click Send test — AppGram delivers it through your connected provider so you can confirm the credentials work before relying on them.

Switching or updating a provider

To switch providers, just connect a new one — it replaces the current provider, with no need to disconnect first. When you re-open the form for the provider that is already connected, the non-secret fields (from address, SMTP host and port) are pre-filled. Secrets such as API keys and SMTP passwords are never returned by AppGram, so leave them blank to keep the current values, or enter new ones to update them.

Disconnecting

Click Disconnect in the connected-provider card and confirm. AppGram reverts to the shared platform sender — you can reconnect a provider at any time.

Permissions

  • Connecting, testing, and disconnecting require the integrations:manage scope.

  • Viewing the connected provider requires integrations:view.
