Send a test email before going live
See it in your inbox first
Customizing email copy is great, but a preview in your live mail client beats reading raw Markdown. AppGram can send you a sample of any user-facing email with your current configuration applied.
What gets sent
- The exact template and styling subscribers receive.
- Your customized subject, intro, CTA label, and footer.
- Your redirect URL on the CTA button (if configured).
- Sample data (a placeholder release title, ticket subject, etc.) so the email renders fully.
- [TEST] prefix on the subject so you can tell it apart from real notifications.
How to send a test
- Open Settings → Email customization.
- Click "Send test email" next to the email type you want to preview.
- Check the inbox of your AppGram account email.
- If something looks off, tweak the copy and send another test.
What it doesn't do
- Test emails go only to your account email — you can't send them to a third party.
- They're rate-limited (20/hour) to prevent abuse.
- They use the single-recipient transactional client, so they won't appear in bulk-email metrics.
When to use it
Always send at least one test after you save changes to:
- Confirm placeholder substitution looks right.
- Verify your deep-link URL opens the correct screen.
- Check that Markdown rendered as you expected.
